These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SubSoar, a YouTube subtitle search Chrome extension for searching subtitles and transcripts with optional AI chat using your own API key, and our related website at subsoar.com (together, the “Service”).

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the SubSoar extension for your own purposes, subject to these Terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use SubSoar in a way that violates YouTube’s terms of service or applicable law.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the extension, except to the extent allowed by law.
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.

AI usage

When you enable AI features and connect your own API key, you are responsible for complying with your AI provider’s acceptable use policy and any terms that apply to your API key. We are not responsible for actions taken by third-party providers. For how data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.

Payments & Pro access

Pro features are offered as a one-time purchase, currently priced at $4.99 USD, processed by Stripe. Pricing may change for new customers, but existing lifetime licenses will remain valid for the lifetime of the product, subject to reasonable technical and business constraints. Taxes may apply depending on your location.

No guarantees

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, the availability or accuracy of transcripts/subtitles, or compatibility with all YouTube videos, browsers, devices, or future changes made by third parties.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post an updated version on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
